Mark Turnwald BVSc MACVSc(Veterinary Behaviour)
Mark was born in Castor Bay and grew up on the North Shore. He has more than 30 years experience since graduating from Massey University in 1982.
He started the Belmont Vet Clinic in 1996 after returning from working as a vet in the UK and practising in Devonport for 6 years. He continues to enjoy providing a service for the people and animals of Takapuna and Devonport.
Mark especially enjoys soft tissue surgery and companion animal medicine. His interest in Veterinary Behaviour is stimulated daily as his nurses handle animals and together they limit the anxiety associated with veterinary visits with their competent approach and reinforcement of calm settled behaviour often when the pet has some painful condition that requires diagnosis and treatment.
Jessica Wood DVN
Jessica graduated from Unitec in 2011 with a Diploma in Veterinary Nursing. She did work experience with us while training, and started full time work here in 2011. Jess currently has a very crazy domestic cat called Spaz. Jess grew up with German Shepherds and looks forward to the chance to have her own. Until then she can often be found looking after her parent’s two shepherds, Tessa and Bourbon. Outside of work Jess enjoys all things craft related, especially drawing, painting, and cross stitch and spending time with family, helping her dad work on his project car.
Jasmin Johnston (BVetTech)
Jasmin is our newest addition and graduated from Massey University with a Bachelor of Veterinary Technology in 2016. She grew up in Dunedin with a cat and a dog. She currently does not have any pets in Auckland but is looking forward to the day she can. Outside of work she enjoys music, sport and hanging with friends.
Our Saturday receptionist Morag has been a client for many years. With a Fox Terrier Maisey-May, and a cat Zarlie, Morag knew us very well before joining the staff here at Belmont Vet Clinic early in 2014.
